With 36 sporting events, 14 cultural events, 1 village, 2 ceremonies, 3 official parties and (hopefull) 300,000 spectators.

Representative 50 venues in the heart of Paris and the Ile-de-France region and A CYCLE OF CONFERENCES TO COMBAT DISCRIMINATION, From Wednesday, August 1 to Friday, August 3, 2018,

Most events take place in Paris, some outside the city. The many parties in the city open their doors to visitors.

After Amsterdam, Limerick, London, Orlando and Paris-these are the five cities that have applied for the 2018 Gay Games. As usual, the candidates were allowed to propose new sports in their application. Limerick has applied to boxing and wheelchair rugby, Paris has proposed archery, fencing, pétanque and roller derby. Also London wants to perform Roller Derby. The Board of the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) has now approved these six sports. The proposal from London and Paris to refuse a polo tournament was rejected.

The chair of the selection committee, David Killian, suspects that the voters in the Paris application particularly convinced the outstanding sports venues, the many spectators offer space, also with a range of new sports (inqueery reported). In addition, the French have great experience in organizing international sporting events and major community cultural events. Finally, Paris had strong political support through the presence of Minister of Sport Valerie Fourneyron and five-time Fencing Olympic medalist Laura Flessel. The presidents of the Federation of Gay Games, Kurt Dahl and Emy Ritt, emphasized that all three applications were of high quality.
